Our Gift Store... Ina's Nooks & Crannies is open from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.,
four days a week. It is run by our very dedicated volunteers. We are
open to our residents, families, friends and staff. You may
purchase stationary, pens, cards, stamps, or personal
necessities, as well as craft items and a variety of snack
items. The proceeds will be used to purchase equipment for
our residents.
Library Facilities... Once a month the East York Library comes in to deliver books
to those residents interested in reading. A volunteer picks
up the last month's books from the residents' rooms and will
bring in the new month's supply. Contact the Activity
Director if you would like to make use or this service and
she/he will pass on to the librarian your specific tastes
in books.
The Ladies Auxiliary... The Home is fortunate to have a Ladies Auxiliary. These ladies organize
Birthday Parties (every 3 months), Strawberry Social and a Christmas Tea.
They welcome our new residents with a plant and provide a Christmas gift to each.
Once a year they hold an "OPEN HOUSE" and welcome visitors into the Home. Family
and friends of residents are encouraged to join the Auxiliary to give input
and assistance.
Resident's Council... Every other month our Council is held for all residents. A representative of one
of the following departments is invited: Nursing, Housekeeping/Maintenance/Laundry,
Dietary/Food, Chaplaincy or Recreation. Residents have the opportunity to give input
and ideas into improving how they can be served to meet their needs. Meeting minutes
are posted and will be responded to by the appropriate discipline within the following
week.
Family Council... Our Family Council consists of families and friends of Ina Grafton Gage residents,
dedicated to ensuring their best quality of life, and working with all staff to
accomplish this goal. Meetings are held on the second Saturday of each month at 1:30pm
in the boardroom. Periodically guest speakers attend and provide interesting topics
which may be of interest to you. Notices reminding you of the date will be posted on
the Family Council bulletin board located at the 1st floor west. Everyone
is welcome to attend..
Church Services and Communion... Church Services are held every Sunday afternoon at 2:30pm. The lists of ministers
who will preach for the month are in the monthly calendar. Catholic Communion is held
on the third Friday morning of each month. An United Church Communion is held 4 - 5
times a year as part of the Sunday Church Service. Our Chaplain does a Spiritual
Reflection Group on each floor. She is available to visit with residents in the home
as well as those in the hospital.
Our Beautiful Grounds... One of the distinct advantages of your new Home is its
park-like surroundings. If ever you should be feeling a bit
blue, there is always a window that looks out on tree and
sky. For those who are able, the grounds are available to
sit or stroll on as you please.
